Alan Bodner
Alan Bodner, saying of his artwork, “The excitement in my work comes from allowing shapes, color and design to play together,” one can readily agree. Bodner has been in the animation industry for over twenty years
Currently with Disney Animation where he is in charge of character development, Bodner has had stints with Cartoon Network on productions such as “The Life and Times of Juniper Lee,” and Warner Bros., where he worked on newer versions of the classic Looney Tunes characters. But with all that experience, Bodner’s latest creations with its abstract overtones, departs vastly from the concreteness of animation.
He developed “Space Mountain”, “Dream Catchers” and “Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas” for Disney Television Animation. In 1999 Alan art directed “Clerks, The Animated Series” for Miramax Television. During his long career at Warner Bros. Alan was supervising Background Artist for numerous theatrical shorts and commercials. Later at WB he art directed “Iron Giant” and shorts “Little Go Beep,” and “Carrotblanca.”
Alan’s distinctive style has been featured extensively on “New York’s ABC News”, as well as “Pee Wee’s Playhouse” and Women’s Wear Daily. A graduate of Art Center College of Design, Bodner received an Annie Award for his production design for “Iron Giant.”
