- The feature film, Batman Begins tells the origins of the
superhero character known as the Batman. It details his
tragic childhood, his rigorous physical training which is
intended to rid him of his fears so he can directly confront
his and society’s adversaries.
- Batman originally debuted in 1939 in a six-page story
called “The Case of the Chemical Syndicate.” From his
inception by creator Bob Kane, Batman has never strayed from
his identity as a vigilante who seeks justice for the
citizens of Gotham City.
- When compared to other superheroes, Batman is the most
mysterious and consequently, frightening. Possessing no true
superhero strengths, his abilities instead rely on darkness,
shadow and the ability to arrive and disappear from anywhere
without a trace.
- The art for this edition is taken from one of the
signature title images from the Batman Begins movie. It is
reproduced using a lithographic process on film.
- Each Batman Begins lithofilm is finished with an
archival black mat and bronze foil stamping of the Batman
Begins logo and the copy “Batman Begins” at the bottom of
the mat.
