  • Tweety “Pie” is a hand-painted cel with a die cut and embossed background to give a three-dimensional look.

  • Tweety “Pie” is taken from the 1956 Merrie Melodies cartoon, “Tree Cornered Tweety,” directed by Friz Freleng; animated by Arthur Davis, Gerry Chiniquy and Virgil Ross
  • Tweety was created by Director Robert Clampett with an idea he received from his own baby photograph.
  • Tweety’s debut was 1942 in the cartoon “A Tale of Two Kitties.”
  • Like Porky Pig before him, Tweety debuted “naked” (no feathers), and thus became an early victim of studio censorship.
