Jim Salvati

Jim Salvati was born and raised in Southern California, where his early years were greatly influenced by the area’s art and architecture. After working for Disney and Warner Bros. for over two decades, Jim’s artistic skills developed an ability to thematically bring ideas to visual reality.

As a byproduct of his years as an instructor at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Jim continues to have strong connections to artistic diversity as well as a careful observation of the changing art world, and how art interrelates with technology.

Salvati’s experience and knowledge cross many boundaries from print, film, and animation, to fine arts. Producers and art directors of the third and fourth Harry Potter movies, brought Salvati on board to develop original interpretive production art. Each subsequent piece is adopted from conceptual sketches and film stills taken directly from the movie to create original oil background paintings.
