Dennis Durrell


Dennis Durrell is an artist and illustrator, who has worked in the animation industry for 30 years. Dennis began his career at age 19, working as a television background painter for Hanna-Barbera Productions. Since then, he has been a background painter and supervisor, production designer and an art director. He has worked primarily for Hanna-Barbera, Disney and Warner Bros. studios, where his talents were utilized on films such as The Little Mermaid, The Iron Giant and Quest for Camelot. For Clampett Studio Collections, Dennis painted the background for Jetsons Photo Op and rendered the painting for Scooby-Doo Haunted House. Besides television and feature films, Dennis spent five years as an art director for Hanna-Barbera’s creative services department, creating artwork to be sold to the public. Dennis has also illustrated children’s books for Disney and others. His character paintings have appeard on the cover of Newsweek, Vanity Fair and many Disney periodicals.

Dennis lives in the Sierra Nevada mountains near Yosemite with his wife and three children. He enjoys landscape painting in oils and watercolor.
